Rail safety expert warns of more mountain crashes due to faulty brakes if Transport Canada doesn't act

The Transportation Safety Board warned this week that standard rail inspections are missing a majority of brake defects and called on Transport Canada to come up with a better system to ensure brake safety, but an ex-TSB director says the regulator has known about the problem for years.
