CBC News has obtained a statement of claim filed in court in Wetaskiwin, Alta., on Monday against Sen. Paula Simons. The former caregivers of a four-year-old girl named Serenity, who died of head trauma in 2014, allege Simons republished defamatory information about the case in a column.
